You can make a change, no matter what your circumstances. She has turned her life around more than once and says that anyone can.

Carrie had put on weight after she had her children. She put on over 40 pounds. Her relatives and friends were saying. “What happened to you? Look at your stomach, it is rolling over.” Carrie had always been slim, so even though she was not obese, her loved ones could not accept her being overweight.

Carrie tried to eat healthy and exercise, but with a lot of effort only succeeded in losing 5 pounds. She even wore a wrap that was supposed to sweat out your weight, bearing the discomfort of heat and sweat pouring off her, but lost no weight.

One day Carrie saw a newspaper ad promoting an Open House at LA Weight Loss Centers, with prizes to be won. She decided to call and get more information. She was not one of the lucky ones that won a prize, but still considers herself lucky as she is now down to 126 pounds, 32 pounds lighter than when she started. She looks so good, she has entered the Mrs. Hawaii pageant, and hopes to represent Hawaii in the Mrs. America pageant.

Carrie was really surprised that she lost her first 28 pounds without any exercise, just by eating the right foods as advised by her counselors at LA Weight Loss Center. She would never have joined the program if she had to exercise, because it was so hard to find time to exercise, and she did not enjoy exercising. Following the program needed a change in her lifestyle. She had been used to grabbing whatever food was available but now she had to plan ahead. Her frequent visits to the center were very motivating.

As she saw the pounds dropping regularly, she wanted to continue to stay on the plan. Food started tasting better, she took time to eat food and taste it while eating it; before getting on the program, “I used to just scarf food down”, she said.

She bought the cookbook from the center, and would scour it for recipes that looked tasty. It was strange, but she found now when she craved food it was no longer for the fast food that she had enjoyed prior to joining the program but for healthy food, like celery and peanut butter. With four children, it was still a blessing that she could go through the drive through, and order food on the plan while buy-

ing food for her children (like a burger or a fajita pita.)

She loves her chocolate bars that she can have as a snack between meals, she really looks forward to them. Another feature she liked was that you could ask the counselors about your favorite foods, and if it was not on the plan, they would call the dieticians and figure out how to include it in your plan.

Carrie herself feels amazing. Shopping had become a chore before, trying to find clothes that would make her look slim or would just fit. Now, shopping is a pleasure, she can go into any store and know that the clothes will fit. It’s a great feeling to be able to walk like a normal person without her thighs rubbing together. She feels like she is starting life again with more energy and confidence. She even enjoys exercising occasionally.

Carrie remembers being skeptical about the LA Weight Loss plan; she thought it was just another plan that would not work, now she is a believer. One of the things that convinced her to try the plan was the pictures she saw in the center of all the successful clients. “Not the mainland ones, but the locals; that really made me feel that the plan must work” she said. She feels there must be a lot of folks like her who have tried so many ways to lose weight, that they don’t believe that LA Weight Loss will help them. She wants them to know that if they try it, they will be amazed at the outcome. “They have to want to lose weight, and be willing to make the commitment, and then the LA plan will surely work for them,” she said.
