Patient’s who have been denture wearers for an extended time can experience bone loss in the upper and lower jaws which can decrease the ability to eat the foods you enjoy and gives the appearance of premature aging. Ill fitting dentures can lead to conditiions where insufficient bone exists for denture use or the use of traditional or mini-dental implants without using extensive bone grafting procedure to regain the lost bone. The subperiosteal implant is a bone supported, custom made implant that has been successfully used for over 70 years. Modern technology allows us to fabricate the subperiosteal implant on an exact jaw model made from a 3D cat scan x-ray image taken of the patient’s jaw. This custom implant and the denture that fits securely on the implant is delivered in one surgical appointment giving the patient a fixed, non-movable denture which the patient can comfortably eat with on the same day.

The subperiosteal implant is a time tested, successful option for someone whose jaw bone has resorbed to a degree that traditional implants can no longer be placed. End the progressive bone loss and say good-bye to a loose, floppy denture and start enjoying the foods you’ve been missing out on.
