When Microsoft released Windows Vista operating system, it was not well received. People who were using Windows XP were happy with it and did not want to upgrade to Vista. Those that did upgrade found that their old software didn’t work or could not get older accessories like printers to work in Vista. Vista was been out now for some time and they have had two major upgrades (service pack 1 & service pack 2). It now works better, and runs well in computers that were designed to run Vista.

Older software and accessories still have issues. Microsoft decided to build a whole new operating system called Windows 7. It’s been designed to run faster and run older software. Windows 7 is scheduled to be released sometime towards the end of the year. It’s been available in beta test version for some time now. I have tested it and have enjoyed this new version. They are still some bugs that they are working out, but I think it’s going to be well received by the general public. Starting next week, certain versions of Vista will include an upgrade to Windows 7.

We will be carrying theses versions of Vista. Now you can build your new system now with Vista and not have to worry about paying for the new operating system when it comes available later this year. For those power users that want to try Windows 7 now, you can get the free beta version which expires June 2010.

Speaking of Microsoft…people are getting emails from “Microsoft” saying that they need to download new updates. Microsoft does not send out emails to customers telling them to download updates. THESE ARE FAKE, and if you do follow the links to these downloads, you will be infected with virus/spyware.

This is what is called phising scams that make you think you are going to a legitimate website when in fact you are going to a potentially dangerous website. There are also quite a few emails that claim to be a major bank and need you to log into their website. They want to steal your passwords, and quite possibly your entire identity. Never click on any links in an email. Always go to browser and type the name of the website you want to go to.

Now for the fun stuff! Intel has created a new CPU called the Atom. The chip uses less power than previous chips and runs much cooler. What does that mean for you? It saves on electricity (uses 20 watts); and because it runs cooler, you can reduce the size of overall computer. We have in stock now a computer that’s half the size of an entire keyboard.

It comes loaded with Windows XP Home; 1Gig of DDR2 Ram (upgradable to 2) 160Gig Hard Drive. It’s loaded with cool features. It has Bluetooth, so you can use wireless Bluetooth keyboard and mice. Connect wireless to your IPod or Bluetooth cell phones. It has a very stylish look that takes up very little space. Use a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and you will have almost no wires or cables showing. The unit can also be mounted on the back of your LCD using the mounting kit included.

There is also a laptop version called a netbook. Cool features include 6 hour battery time, super light weight (from 2.5 to 3.2 pounds depending on model), Wireless Bluetooth and internet, Windows XP loaded.

Do you want a computer that takes up very little space on your desk? The ALL NEW MSI Brand “All in One Computer will do the trick. A Stylish 19” Widescreen LCD with built in Atom processor, Windows XP Home, WIFI, Webcam, DVD burner, and TOUCH SCREEN!
