show and see how it’s going to portray my mother and myself,” admits Jones. “Stuff happened (during filming). I was done with the attitudes - the boys blaming me, my mom saying it was my fault, and being told (by the production staff) where and when I could and couldn’t go.

“I had my misgivings (about being on the show) but I have no regrets. In the end it’s about being part of something bigger than myself. Clearing all the clutter was great, but knowing that it’s going to touch lives and expose the fact, especially to my friends and family, that none of us can be immune to clutter.”

While the Jones family got a home makeover, local fans of Clean House got a chance to meet the stars, and possibly even be on the show.

The Jan. 31 yard sale saw hundreds of people lined up in front of the their home, located in what usually is a quiet neighborhood.

“The people in Hawaii are the friendliest people,” says Nash, who has only been to Hawaii once before but is hoping to return this summer with her family. “The fans here are really kind. Little kids drew pictures for me and I had all these leis on my neck.”

As for her own house, Nash says it’s neat but only because she lives in fear that one day the show will knock on her door.

Nash, who has been the host of Clean House since the beginning, says one of her favorite things about the show is sitting down with each family and helping them to figure out the root of the problem.

“If we did not talk about that, then it would just be a glorified maid service,” she explains. “With the Jones family, viewers will see that it’s a multigenerational clutter with the mother, daughter and children. Not every problem will get solved.

There are still lingering issues, but I’m really happy with what we did here. And I’d be ecstatic if the family is happy.”

Due to unforeseen circumstances at The Style Network, the Clean House: Search For The Messiest Home In The Country episode featuring the Jones family from Niu Valley aired on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. It is scheduled to re-air on Wednesday, June 3 at 6 p.m. and then again that night at 9 p.m. (Hawaii time).
