say you’re going to do. He was adamant about that. It’s easy to lie, but it’s harder to remember the lie. And there’s no dancing around the subject.”

Now, at age 34, Feldman has proven himself to be more than just an heir. A graduate of Punahou School, he attended Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and in 1995 earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in art and digital media from the University of California San Diego.

Like his father, Feldman has a passion for art - although he claims that he’s not a very good artist himself.

As for the “re-birth” of Tori Richard, Feldman says he can’t take all the credit. He attributes the growth to a commitment to product and controlling costs.

“From a sales volume stand point, the last three years have been the best three years in the history of the company,” he says. “We have about 120 employees, some who have been here 40, 50 years.”

In addition to Tori Richard’s golden anniversary, Feldman is also toasting to a new addition in the Feldman family. He and wife Lori are expecting a second child that will join daughter Caroline, 6.

Today, Tori Richard can be found in more than 2,500 better department stores and specialty stores in all 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, Mexico, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. There are also showrooms in Dallas and New York City, and four retail stores in Hawaii (Ala Moana Center, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hyatt Regency, and The Shops at Wailea).
