Featured violinist Yang Ou Ka Lin

es to offer lively entertainment: “Two kids will be doing a number of a really famous Beijing Opera,” says Chun. “It’s very acrobatic. It’s about two good friends who check into a hotel and in the dark they think they are enemies and they are fighting each other. When the light turns on they say ‘Oh, we are friends.’”

The group’s current tour is only to include Hawaii and San Francisco as the children return to school in

September. “Hawaii is so lucky to have these kids from the World Expo to perform here in Honolulu,” concludes Chun. “The Shanghai children will bring friendship and help us know more about China and China’s promising new generation.”

Tickets cost $20, $25 and $35, with a $5 discount for seniors, military and children under 12. For more information, call the box office at 591-2211 or the Shanghai Children’s Palace Art Troupe Committee at 597-8135.
