Eli Joor of Ewa Beach is up to his ears with stuffed friends, donated by Island ohanas as part of the 11th annual Teddy Bear Round-up and Family Resources Fair, the highlight to a monthlong series funded by the state Department of Health in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month. This Saturday (April 26), Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii, the Hawaii chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and the Child Abuse Prevention Planning Council hope to collect 4,300 teddy bears - one for each report of child abuse in Hawaii in 2007. Volunteers, entertainers and even some beloved cartoon characters will be on hand accepting donations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Ward Warehouse stage. For more, call 951-0200.
