Despite voggy conditions, the show must go on! And boy, did it ever ... Nanikapono Community-School Museum's 75th May Day program was a success May 17 as more than 700 parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and other relatives gathered on campus to watch their keiki perform various hula kahiko and celebrate "I Ka Wa Kahiko, The Days of Old."

The 2008 May Day Court and Conch Shell Procession keep with tradition by donning the school's colors of green and white, while Aubrey Wilson receives the royal treatment as teachers present this year's May Day Queen to her subjects on a manele (carrying platform). This crowd of excited fourth-graders watch the grand release of Pearl City Rainbow Pigeons as the day's activities wind down.
