More than 100 veterans and civilians joined together Dec. 7 for the first-ever commemoration ceremony at the long-lost battlefield site in Ewa Beach. Ewa Community Church's Rev. Tom Fujita blessed the site as others participated in a wreath presentation to honor the servicemen and civilians who died during the attacks of Dec. 7, 1941.

Many others gave eye-witness accounts of the attacks more than 60 years ago. Ramsay Hishinuma (left), speaks of his volunteer efforts with the 442nd Regional Combat Team, and war historian John Bond (below, left) gives a historical account of the site.
