For the eighth straight year, Highlands Intermediate students took in the sights, scenes and tastes of the Mainland during their annual Spring Tour. Forty-one students and chaperons made the trip to historic landmarks of the East Coast - the Iwo Jima Memorial (left) in Washington, D.C., Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty (below) in New York City, and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, to name a few - as part of a U.S. history lesson. But tour coordinator/food services manager Darryl Nakagawa said he made sure the kids got to sample some foodie fare from places they've only seen on TV, including Olive Garden, Golden Corral and CiCi's Pizza.
