Sheraton Hawaii Bowl executive director Jim Donovan welcomes guests at a special kickoff banquet held at the Sheraton Waikiki Dec. 22. The event opened with a rally between Arizona State University cheerleaders and the University of Hawaii band and cheerleaders before the UH football Warriors broke into their traditional Haka (a Maori war dance tradition). Donovan also recognized the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl sponsors: Pete Derzis of ESPN, Pac-10 commissioner Tom Hansen, Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky, Starwood Hotels & Resort senior VP and director of operations Keith Vieira, Kyo-ya Company Ltd. executive VP and COO Ernie Nishizaki and WAC commissioner Karl Benson
