Explorers Jason Bayang of Ho’ala School in Wahiawa and Brooke Magalei of Kahuku High School learned about careers such as flight attendant, pilot, aircraft mechanic and airport operations through visits to various airlines, helicopter firms, food services as well as from lectures by industry pros,.

Magalei also received the Jaime Wagatsuma Award given to one outstanding student each year.

Island Air continued the Aloha Airlines program after the airline shut down in 2008.
