To help homeless children gear up for school with adequate supplies, The Locations Foundation will conduct its annual Backpack to School drive July 6-9 at Central Oahu Prudential Locations, 95-720 Lanikuhana Ave., Suite 120 in Mililani.

School supplies also will be accepted at any of the company’s open houses on Sunday and July 11.

In observance of Prudential’s 40th anniversary in Hawaii, the company hopes to collect enough items to fill 1,000 backpacks. Welcome from residents are Elmer’s glue sticks and 4-ounce bottles, writing supplies, composition books, folder paper, white erasers, binders, rulers and 24-packs of Crayola crayons.

“It’s heartbreaking to know that thousands of keiki start school without basic supplies,” said James Chan, drive chairman and partner at large real estate company. “For nearly 10 years, our Backpack to School has provided children at homeless shelters with the tools necessary to succeed in school.”
