Bookmobile Steps In During Library Repairs

While Kahuku Library is closed for renovations, its newly launched bookmobile service will continue to service readers on the North Shore and Windward coast communities.

The library closed Dec. 16 so that crews can replace ceiling tiles and retrofit light fixtures for energy efficiency. The work is expected to be finished by mid-January.


The bookmobile, meanwhile, will operate on the schedule below:

* Dec. 21: Sunset Beach Christian School, 11 a..m. to 12:30 p.m.; Kuilima Estates, 2 to 4 p.m.

* Dec. 28: Ponds at Punaluu, 9 to 11 a.m.; Hanohano Hale, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.;

Kaaawa Elementary School, 3 to 4 p.m.


* Jan. 4: Hauula Civic Center, noon to 1 p.m.; BYUH campus, 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Temple View Apartments’ building R and farm, and 3 to 4 p.m. at Student Family Housing Building W.

* Jan. 11: Sunset Beach Christian School, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Kuilima Estates, 2 to 4 p.m.
