Hawaiian Islands Impreza Club members will cruise for a cause Saturday at the 2009 Aloha United Way Hawaii I-Club Charity Cruise.

Drivers meet at 7:30 a.m. near Central Oahu Regional Park’s tennis courts for a pre-cruise swap meet and car setup. Rollout begins at 9 when they head to Servco Subaru in Mapunapuna for a prize drawing. The cruise winds over the Pali to Windward Mall for a prize and food break, followed by a photo op at Chinaman’s Hat and shave ice at Matsumoto’s.

Signups are from 7 and 8:30 a.m. at CORP. A minimum $10 donation is required, and one raffle ticket will be given for each donation.

All traffic laws and road etiquette must be followed, and Walt Rivera warns that those who speed, race or act offensively will be “frowned upon and belittled by the HIIC flamers.” For details, call Rivera at 741-8142 or Ted Calvero at 232-9204.

“It’s open to anyone as long as they put the greater cause at hand first,“said Rivera.“The idea of just giving back to the community is our goal, no matter if it’s in a small way or a big way.”
