Public comment is due by Oct. 8 in preliminary plans to improve access to Dillingham ranch land - a step toward development of a 77-lot agricultural subdivision mauka of the highway.

Dillingham Ranch ‘Aina LLC of Beverly Hills has filed a draft environmental assessment for installing a T-intersection along Farrington Highway at the current westerly access road to the ranch property. The new intersection would connect to the subdivision and carry traffic to and from the development.

Plans to create the 5-acre house lots on the historic North Shore property have drawn mixed reviews from the community - some supporting it for the ranch improvements promised, others doubting the developer’s commitment to farming activities.

For details on the access plan, call Ken Tatsuguchi at state DOT, 587-1830; or Brian Takeda at R.M. Towill, at 842-1133.
