Independence Day Lineup For Schofield

No one does the Fourth of July better than the U.S. Army, and Schofield Barracks celebrates our nation’s birthday by inviting the public to a daylong party with something for the entire family.

The schedule is below: 8-9 a.m. Late registration for 5K Fun Run

9-9:30 a.m. 5K Fun Run and signups for the children’s 1-mile run

10-10:30 a.m. Children’s 1-mile Fun Run


10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Pony rides 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Rides and inflatables

10 a.m.-7 p.m. Game booths 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Food booth open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Satellite Stage entertainment

5 p.m. Billy Ray Cyrus concert 7 p.m. Grand prize drawing for a 2008 Hyundai Accent

7:05 p.m. Community covenant signing ceremony


7:40 p.m. 25th Infantry Division Tropic Lightning Band performs the 1812 Overture and The Flags We Follow.

8:30 p.m. Tropic Lighting Band concert

9 p.m. Fireworks All four gates will be open, and signs will direct attendees to Sills Field for all the fun. Pets and high-back chairs are not allowed; neither are fireworks, sparklers and glass containers. Grills and canopies are only allowed in reserved picnic areas.
