A strange kind of fictional high school reunion this weekend in downtown Honolulu should bring money into the coffers of Koolauloa Educational Alliance Corp. (KEAC) for Kahuku High School students.

Spurred on by the Kukui High featured in Hawaii Five-O, a multi-phased promotion of the fictional school, Mililani resident Ryan Ozawa and Valentino Valdez launched it the day after the TV show’s Sept. 21 premiere. Now the men have partnered with KEAC and will give a portion of proceeds from their merchandise sales and events to the nonprofit group, which provides scholarships and entrepreneurial incentives to the Red Raiders via training and kahuku.org, its online store .

Former KEAC president MaryAnne Long spearheaded the partnership and will advise the venture. As current KEAC president Keoki Wallace said, “We hope this collaboration can develop a program that will serve as a model to help other school and youth groups set up their own entrepreneurial endeavors.”

The “reunion” party is planned this Saturday at a venue in Restaurant Row. For details, call Long at 225-7307 or Ozawa at 372-3372 or e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
