A new environmental impact statement is being prepared that combines the Koa Ridge Makai and Waiawa developments, and public comment is due today (July 23) on the draft EIS.

Castle & Cooke’s master plan for the two large communities has commercial, light industrial, and medical and health care components, as well as a mixed-use village center for Koa Ridge, where up to 3,500 homes are planned. About 1,500 homes are expected for the Waiawa area, which is located on the east side of the H-2 freeway.

For more information, call Laura Kodama of Castle & Cooke, 548-4811; or Orlando Davidson of the state Land Use Commission, 587-3822.
