Local Politicos To Debate On Public Radio

Hawaii Public Radio has scheduled political programs Sept. 23 and 30 which should be of interest to Central Oahu residents and voters:

* Candidate Debate at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 is a live debate among candidates for the Honolulu City Council, including District IX (Waikele to Mililani) with Nestor Garcia, Emil Svrcina and Lance Widner; and four other districts.

This debate will be broadcast on KHPR, KKUA and KANO. Listeners may e-mail one question each, one day prior to the show.

* On Politics at 5 p.m. Oct. 21 will focus on either the Board of Education, or mass transit with guests Cliff Slater and Doug Carlson. This show will air on KIPO and be streamed live online at http://www.hawaiipublicradio.org. Listeners may call in questions or get updates at 941-3689.
