Christ Lutheran Church will screen a film at 7 p.m. Saturday aimed at helping couples rekindle the flame and reinforce their marriages.

“I just hope that Fireproof will help couples kind of take a look at their marriages and see what can be done to fix them,” said Pastor David Kieffer. “I want it to help inspire them to recommit and do their best to come together as couples.”

Small-group counseling sessions will follow the screening, and Kieffer stresses CLC’s goal of continued support.

The alarming increase in the U.S. divorce rate, coupled with the declining number of weddings each year inspired this Mililani event, which is free and open to the public,. Childcare will be provided for those in need of a sitter.

“It’s just going to be a good time for couples to come together and talk about their relationships - and maybe even save them,” he said.
