Wahiawa Community and Business Association’s nonprofit Malama O Wahiawa is hoping for residents’support when it gives the town a face lift on Oct. 25, Make a Difference Day.

Those willing to perform a good community service are greatly welcomed and encouraged to join the effort.

“There’s a great deal of satisfaction in helping to improve things around town, and helping others makes people feel good,” said Jack Kampfer, Malama O Wahiawa chairman.“We just want to get the word out that it’s a day to make a difference, and people are welcome to do their part and send photos - We’d love to see them.”

Last year, the Wahiawa Lions helped clean the windows of a senior citizens home, and 180 volunteers from churches, civic and community groups took time out of their day, contributing more than 500 hours of work to benefit the town of Wahiawa.

For more information or to share community service ideas, call Kampfer at 621-5109, ext. 226, or 778-9270.
