Castle & Cooke Hawaii has announced that it will begin construction soon on a Longs Drugs store in Mililani Mauka, which will go up next to the McDonald’s restaurant and Tesoro gas station.

The 1.9-acre parcel, at the corner of Ainamakua Drive and Meheula Parkway, will be home to a full-service drugstore with a two-lane drive-through pharmacy window. Expected completion date is early 2012 for the 23,000-square-foot business.

CVS Caremark Corp. now owns Longs Drugs stores, operating 29 stores on Oahu and 46 in Hawaii overall.

Central Oahu is home to four of its drugstores - two in Mililani, one in Wahiawa and one in Haleiwa, which held its grand opening Aug. 16.
