Night Walks In Waimea

Monthly night walks will begin July 11 at Waimea Valley where master storyteller Lopaka Kapanui will reveal the spiritual history and lore of the place.

“I hope the night walkers will gain an appreciation of the spiritual side of the valley and learn to appreciate the peace and dignity it offers,” he said. “I am honored to be the one selected to share these stories and share my personal experiences of the ‘Whispering Walls of Waimea.’”

The tours run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 11,Aug. 29, Sept. 26, Oct. 24 and Nov. 14 led by Kapanui, who also operates the Mysteries of Honolulu tours. Fee is $50 for adults and $35 for ages 12-16 years old. (Younger children are not allowed.) Box dinners from Waimea Falls Grill may be ordered for $9, with a la carte available. Call 638-7766.
