The public has one more hour each day to enjoy seven Oahu state parks, including Wahiawa Freshwater State Recreation Area, now that summer hours are in place.

Last month the state Department of Land and Natural Resources extended the hours to 7 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. daily. The entrance gates also will remain open during that time at the following recreation areas: Malaekahana, Keaiwa Heiau in Aiea, Ka Iwi Scenic Shoreline (including Makapuu lighthouse), Sand Island, Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a State Wayside in Makiki, and Wa’ahila Ridge in Honolulu.
