Wahiawa Christian Church will welcome Elaine Schoepf as its new pastor at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church on Royal Palm Drive.

Rev. Schoepf will be officially installed during a special presentation called “Congregation Transformation and Revitalization.” Don Dewey, co-regional minister of the Pacific Southwest Region Disciples of Christ, will perform the ceremony. She replaces recently retired pastor John Parish. For more information, call 621-5818.

Schoepf previously served at the Christian Church Disciples of Christ and at the United Church of Christ. She recently celebrated 20 years of ministry and is a graduate of Pacific School of Religion with a master of divinity degree. She also earned a BA in communication from Chapman University.

She brings a background as a performer in religious theater and music troupes. Schoepf has directed camps and conferences, taught life skills to homeless families and worked with at-risk youth.

In her spare time, the new pastor enjoys creating torch-worked and kiln-fired glass and silver pieces.
