Artwork by three area children will be among 100 to grace pages of Hawaiian Telcom’s 2006-2007 Oahu yellow page directory. Winners were selected from 1,600 entries and also given cash prizes by the phone company.

Drawings and paintings depict “the meaning of ohana.”

Mililani Middle School student Kristi Auyong took first for grades 6 to 8, winning $100 for herself and $400 for her school. Mililani High student Jasmine Pang was second for grades 9-12 ($75); Sunset Beach Elementary student Raychel Justice was third for grades 3-5 ($50).

The phone company will unveil its new directories Thursday at the UH Wahine volleyball game. Residents and businesses will receive the art-filled books in October.
