Polynesian Cultural Center presents Te Mahana Hiro’a Tumu O Tahiti starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in its newly renovated Pacific Theater.
The 10th annual competition adds an adult division to the solo competition this year for contestants skilled in the dance and culture of French Polynesia.
“This year we have included the Taurearea (adult) division to complement the budding stars in the tamarii (child) division with the highest level of ori otea,” said Raymond Mariteragi, cultural islands manager at PCC.
“PCC is the only cultural entity that provides a venue of this scope for children learning and practicing Tahitian dance to showcase their skill at culture.”
Tickets cost $10 and $6. For details, call 293-3333.
