Waimea Valley will celebrate Arbor Day by giving away trees and selling a wide variety of native and exotic plants from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7 in the parking lot just before the guard shack.

Each household is allowed to take one tree, and shoppers are advised to bring an extra bucket or two to take home free mulch.

Vendors include Olomana Tropicals, Jill Coryell the Hibiscus Lady, Alvin Tsuruda of Waihale Products, Ed Miyashita of Growing Creations and Kay Lynch of La’au Hawai’i. Co-sponsors are Hawaiian Electric Co. and Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Program.

A $5 parking fee can be validated at departure. For more information, call 638-7766.
