Dorothy is not in Kansas anymore - but she’s found a home in Wahiawa.

The Oahu Arts Center will present its fall musical, The Wizard of Oz, at the Wahiawa Hongwanji Mission at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 and 2 p.m. Oct. 14.

“Last year we had a ‘real life’ show,” said OAC president Edmund Aczon, “short of a tornado but a thundering storm followed by the biggest earthquake in the Hawaiian history.

“This year, we’re not taking any chances.” (The venue for the October 2006 Wizard show was Mililani Mauka Community Park.) Aczon credits state Rep. Marcus Oshiro with securing the weather-proof Wahiawa staging.

The play is directed once again by Kristi Kashimoto and tickets are on sale via oahuartscenter.org or by calling Kashimoto at 848-7632. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children 3 to 17.

The Hongwanji Mission is located at 1067 California Ave.
