Dog Walkers: Join By May 15

Dog lovers are gearing up for the Hawaii Kai Dog Walk June 6, set for 7:30 a.m. (with check-in at 6:30) at Hawaii Kai Park and Ride.

Slogan for the sixth annual walk is “Dogs Rule!,” giving canines and their masters an opportunity to exercise, socialize, make new friends and celebrate the human-animal bond.

Games, activities and exhibits are planned in the dog park, and photographer Monica Schwartz will take free souvenir photos. Free treats also will be available, along with doggie pools so pets can cool off after the walk.

Pre-registration deadline is May 15, and the $20 fee includes a T-shirt, gift bag, bottled water and the chance to win a prize. Participants also can register the day of the event for a cost of $20, but door prizes are not included and T-shirts and gift bags are not guaranteed.
