Kalani High School students will perform in the 2010 Oahu Marching Band Festival, set for 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 1 at Aloha Stadium.

Pearl City High School’s Music Learning Center and Finance Factors have teamed up to sponsor the 35th annual event, which features 11 invited high school bands from across Oahu.

The Falcons band will perform an 8- to 10-minute routine for both spectators and a panel of experts, who will later share comments on ways to improve their performances for future events. Judges are UNLV professor Thomas Leslie, Ralph Ford of Troy University, former Royal Hawaiian Band director Michael Nakasone, UH band director Keith Higaki, and Erik Kreft and Bobby King.

“We are happy to extend a hand to this worthwhile educational opportunity which enriches Hawaii’s youths and allows each participating band to improve its program,” said Finance Factors president Steven Teruya.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. For details, call Chadwick Kamei at 454-5655.
