To help East Oahu voters decide their early election picks, ‘Olelo channel 54 will air Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board’s candidates’ forum, featuring the mayoral and city council hopefuls, at 9 p.m. each Tuesday this month.

The live forum is scheduled for 6:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 31 at Hahaione Elementary cafeteria, offering eight candidates for mayor in the special election and seven candidates for City Council District 4 in the primary election. Both elections will be held Sept. 18.

The board plans a second public candidates’ forum Sept. 28 during its regular meeting at Hahaione. That one will feature state Senate (Districts 8 and 25) and House (District 18) hopefuls, as well as BOE candidates in all Oahu races. The board meets at 7, and the forum runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

For more information, call chairman Greg Knudsen at 395-3725.
