Del.icio.usStudents working toward their associate degree in Kapiolani Community College’s Mobile Intensive Care Technician program now have a new pathway to a bachelor of arts in public administration from UH West Oahu.
Chancellors at the two schools made the agreement official this fall. It takes advantage of the prior Mananawai Program, which allowed for dual admission and enrollment of students in good standing who met the colleges’ admission criteria.
Qualified MICT students now may transfer as classified students to UHWO’s public administration degree program with a concentration in disaster preparedness and emergency management or healthcare administration.
“This agreement helps students build upon the strong foundation they have acquired at KCC while taking advantage of our baccalaureate programs in related fields,” explained Gene Awakuni, UH West Oahu chancellor.
Students also have the help of faculty and staff at both campuses, as well as scholarship and grants.
