Diamond Head Theatre’s Shooting Stars plan a trip to New York City next March to learn, perform and network with other star-struck youths. The troupe will sing Christmas carols Nov. 19 and Dec. 19 at Whole Foods Kahala, which is supporting them with ‘Recycle Your Change.’ Photo from Diamond Head Theatre.

The Shooting Stars, Diamond Head Theatre’s dynamic youth troupe, will sing at Kahala Mall from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 19 and 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 19, all in the interest of show business and earning money for their spring trip to New York City.

The group is in the middle of a fund drive for its East Coast visit, which will have members at theater workshops, on stage and networking with their theater peers in March of 2011.

Whole Foods Market at Kahala is supporting their efforts with its “Recycle Your Change” program now through the end of December - where customers return their change to the cause - and the troupe’s Saturday show of Christmas carols also is at Whole Foods.

Shooting Stars is comprised of 48 Oahu children ages 7 to 17 under the direction of John Rampage and staff at DHT. They stage their own musical productions and are available for private parties.
