The public has one more hour each day to enjoy seven Oahu state parks, including Ka Iwi Scenic Shoreline (and Makapuu Lighthouse), now that summer hours are in place.

Last month the state Department of Land and Natural Resources extended the hours to 7 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. daily. The entrance gates also will remain open during that time at the following recreation areas: Wa’ahila Ridge, Malaekahana, Keaiwa Heiau in Aiea, Wahiawa Freshwater park, Sand Island and Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a State Wayside in Makiki.
