UH volleyball player Jerrod Lofy (right) scarfed down two 15-inch subs loaded with meat, cheese, veggies and papaya seed dressing in 8 minutes and 32 seconds to win this year’s Submarine Eating Contest. He won $300 and a pretty nice trophy at Storto’s Deli in Kaimuki. Storto’s owner and CEO Jamie DeMatoff congratulates the chow-down champ. Photo courtesy of Storto’s.

Local transportation companies will help get UH Warrior fans to and from Aloha Stadium this fall, starting with the USC game on Thursday.

For East Oahu fans, buses will stop at points in Hawaii Kai, Kahala, Kaimuki and Palolo for a round-trip fare of $11, when purchased as a season pass.

Otherwise, the cost is $8 one-way or $14 round trip. A season pass is $77, if purchased by 3 p.m. Sept. 1, or $66 after the first game. Both fares require reservations, and unfilled seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Buses leave the stadium 30 minutes after the end of the game. For details on specific area bus stops, go to UHFootballExpress.com. For times and reservations, call Roberts Hawaii at 954-8625 (by 3 p.m. of the Wednesday before each game) for Hawaii Kai and Kahala; call E Noa at 591-2561 for Kaimuki and Palolo.
