A new sports league hopes to give adults their kicks while supporting their favorite charities.

Co-ed kickball - complete with red rubber balls and the “nobouncies"rule - is coming to city parks in Kaimuki or Palolo Valley starting in August and running through mid-November. For those 18 and older, the charity-focused 808 Sports Leagues is registering teams and individuals on its web-site, http://www.808sportsleagues.com, and is also seeking sponsors.

Games will be played once a week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights at 6:40 or 7:40. And every time a team wins a game, a portion of the sponsorship money goes to the charity of their choice.

Besides altruism, the organized events also aim to promote making new friends, networking, team-building for corporations, exercise and having fun.

Fees apply.Early registration ends June 15. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/808sportsleagues, call 295-9781 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
