The Aina Haina resident is now senior vice president of sales, marketing and revenue management for ResortQuest Hawaii, just one of many pivotal roles she’s played in the field. Shari has also been honored as Destination Marketer of the Year, is among Travel Agent magazine’s “top 100 most powerful women in travel,” and chaired the Hawaii Tourism Authority board in 2000 ... Hawaii Kai music teacher Beth Uale will direct the children’s choir this weekend at the Honolulu Hawaii Stake Christmas concert at the Latter-day Saints tabernacle on Beretania. Beth was national Mother of the Year in 2004 ... Dai Sun and Betty Chang of Kanewai Street must be proud. Their grandson Charles Vogl is co-producer with Socheata Poeuv of the film New Year Baby which just won the Movies that Matter Human Rights Award at the International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam. Star of the Sea teacher (and veteran award-winning Hawaii entertainer) Keith Haugen and wife Carmen are presenting a free Peace on Earth Christmas concert for everyone at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand. “It’s our Christmas gift to the community,” explains Carmen, a professional hula dancer. Keith also wrote many of Hawaii’s favorite Christmas songs ... Veteran celebrity columnist Eddie Sherman will autograph copies of his new book, Frank, Sammy, Marlon and Me, during Kahala Nui’s holiday bash next Monday night ... New Hawaii Kai state Rep.
