Hawaii Kai’s beloved political cartoonist, who died last year, is now memorialized in the Corky Trinidad Endowment Fund at UH Manoa. The fund was officially established Feb. 12 at the Center for Philippine Studies, with $42,916 already raised by his friends, colleagues at the Star-Bulletin and others. East Oahu also mourns the passing in December of two of its bright lights: Aina Haina school librarian Candace Foster and retired Calvary-by-the-Sea pastor Doug Olson.
