Leahi Hospital volunteer Brittany Amano has won $1,000 and a free trip in May to Washington, D.C. as one to Hawaii’s two winners of the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for youth volunteers. Her weekly visits with Leahi’s elderly patients include singing, dancing, feeding, telling jokes and leading exercises. “I’ve never had such a memorable time as I have volunteering at Leahi,” she says ...
