Below are highlights of what’s coming up in the West Oahu community.

* The “Ukulele Man” sculpture, made of recycled materials, is on view weekdays now through Oct. 6 in the Kapolei Hale courtyard (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Call 523-4674.

* The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Tony Group Autoplex on Ka Uka Boulevard; and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at Leeward Community College. Call 845-9966.

* This month and next, St. Francis-West and Liliha will provide free mammograms and follow-up exams to uninsured and underinsured women ages 40-49. Call 547-6889 or 547-6798.


* The Classics at Pearlridge presents Na Kama Sept. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at center court in Pearlridge Center Downtown. Call 488-0981.

* The Makakilo-KapoleiHonokai Hale Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Kapolei High School cafeteria; the Waipahu board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at Hawaii’s Plantation Village. Call 527-5749.

* The Kaiser Waipio Clinic hosts a fresh foods market from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 27, including a cooking demonstration and free sampling. The clinic is at 94-1480 Moaniani St. (432-2270). Also Sept. 27, the clinic presents a free talk on “Keys to Healthy Aging” at 10 a.m. (432-2675).

* Hospice Hawaii sponsors the Foster Home Care Expo from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Hawaii Okinawa Center, offering exhibits, speakers and workshops. Call 924-9255.

* Kapolei Public Library (1020 Manawai St.) hosts its final “Play Mornings"session, featuring a variety of educational toys for children ages 2 and up to explore, at 10 a.m. Sept. 28. Call 693-7050.

* Junior Achievement of Hawaii holds its annual Golf Classic Sept. 28 on the Kapolei Golf Course (545-1777).

* Cold Stone Creamery at 98-1005 Moanalua Road (485-2421) is giving out free 3-ounce servings of ice cream from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 28 as part of the company’s fifth annual nationwide benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All donations will support children with life-threatening illnesses.

* The black-and-white photo exhibit My Voice from Waianae’s Women in Need participants is on display weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 29-Oct. 25, at Kapolei Hale. Opening reception for the public is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29. Call 523-4674. * The Campbell High School Class of 1966 plans its 40-year reunion for Oct. 2-6 in Las Vegas. Members of the 1965 class are also welcome. Call 671-0049.


* Waipahu Public Library (94-275 Mokuola St.) is hosting free storytime, songs and activities Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for keiki ages 3 to 5. Upcoming programs are scheduled for Oct. 3, 10,17, 24 and 31. Parents must accompany children. Call 675-0358.

* Entries are still being accepted for the Jamba Juice Keiki Triathlon Championship Oct. 7 at Ko Olina. Events start at 8 a.m. at the resort. Log onto www.koolinatriathlon.com

* Peter Rockford Espiritu’s Tau Dance Theatre opens its opera, Naupaka - A Hawaiian Love Story, at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at Leeward Community College Theatre. Tickets are $25 and $21. Call 455-0385.

* The Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center plans its annual Tribute to the Spirit of Community benefit Oct. 21 at the Ihilani. Call 696-7093.
