* NEIGHBORS The Pearl City Neighborhood Board meets at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at Highlands Intermediate School cafeteria, and the Makakilo-Kapolei-Honokai Hale board meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Kapolei High School cafeteria. Call 768-3710.

* PLAY MORNINGS Kapolei Library has play mornings for keiki ages 2 to 5 at 10 a.m. every Thursday through Jan. 29. Call 693-7050.

* ART EXHIBIT Board of Water Supply’s Conservation Week Poster and Poetry Contest winners are on view through Jan. 29 in the Kapolei Hale courtyard. Call 224-5995.


* GLASSES DRIVE Used eyeglasses are welcome from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 30 at the office of Dr. Hugo Higa in suite 660 at Pali Momi Medical Center. Donations go to the national Lions Recycle for Sight Program. Call 488-4842.

* THROAT SINGERS Leeward Community College presents Tyva Kyzy (Daughters of Tuva) performing five styles of throat singing at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in the school theater. Admission is $22 to $5. Call 483-7123.

* FITNESS FAIR Rainbow Gymnastics Academy sponsors a fitness fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at Pearlridge Center Uptown. Call 488-0981.

* XERISCAPE MEETING The Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden have their annual general membership meeting at 10 a.m. Jan. 31. Call 748-5312.

* WAIMANO HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 3-mile novice hike to Waimano pool in Pacific Palisades at 8 a.m. Jan. 31. Go to http://www.htm-club.org.

* COLLEGE AID First Hawaiian Bank and the Hawaii Association for College Admission Counseling sponsor a college planning workshop at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Waipahu High School cafeteria, including handouts, refreshments and door prizes for interested parents and students. Call 842-8900.

* RAIL TRANSIT COMMENTS The city has extended the public comment period to Feb. 6 on its rail transit draft EIS. Call 768-8305.
