Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* NEIGHBORS The Aiea Neighborhood Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Aiea Library, and the Ewa board meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Ewa Beach Library. Call 768-3710.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 9 at Aiea High School library, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10 at Pearl City High School library, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at Campbell High School library and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at Waikele Center by the malassada wagon. * LISTEN STORY State Sen. Mike Gabbard hosts a community meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Kapolei Starbucks. Refreshments will be served. Call 586-6830.


 

* REGGAE SHOW Reggae artist Joseph Israel performs at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 in the LCC Theatre. Tickets cost $23 adults, $19 students, seniors and military. Call 455-0385 or 483-7123.

* ON STAGE Harmony performs at 1 p.m. Feb. 15 at Pearlridge Downtown, followed by Ka Hula O Ululani at 2:30. Call 488-0981.

* HOLIDAY CLOSURES All public schools and libraries are closed Feb. 16 in observance of Presidents Day. (Libraries are closed Feb. 14-16.)

* GEEK SEMINAR SuperGeeks holds free residential seminars on “Backup Solutions for the Home” at noon Feb. 14 at the Hawaiian Tel store in Pearlridge Uptown (second floor next to Borders). On March 14, it’s “Home Gaming: How to turn your place into a gaming paradise.” Reservations are required. Visit wwwsupergeeks.net/geek-u to sign up.

* QUILT PROJECT Volunteers with the Home of the Brave Quilt Project return to the Pacific Aviation Museum Feb. 16, May 25 and July 4 with quilts for family members of Hawaii soldiers who have died serving in Iraq/Afghanistan. Call 441-1000.

* ROYAL MUSIC The Royal Hawaiian Band plays at noon Feb. 18 at Kapolei Hale and at noon Feb. 28 at Pearlridge Center Uptown. Call 922-5331.


* NEIGHBORS ON BOARD Residents wishing to run for a neighborhood board seat should mail or hand-carry their candidacy declaration form by Feb. 20 to the Neighborhood Commission. Call 768-3717.

* WORMS WORKSHOP Makakilo resident Zac Johnson presents a hands-on demonstration on vermicomposting - creating organic fertilizer from kitchen garbage with the help of worms - at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at Kapolei Library. Call 693-7050.
