Below are highlights of what’s coming up in West Oahu.

* MUSUBI MAN Honolulu Theatre for Youth presents Musubi Man at 2 p.m.April 1 at Ewa Beach Library (689-1204), 10:30 a.m. April 4 at Kapolei Library (693-7050) and 3 p.m. April 27 at Pearl City Library (453-6566).

* PUMPING GAS Law enforcement officers pump gas and wash car windows from 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m. April 2 and 3 at the Pearl City Tesoro service station to earn donations for Special Olympics Hawaii. The station is at 922 Kamehameha Hwy. Go to http://www.specialolympicshawaii.org.

* PARENT WORKSHOP Ewa Beach Library presents the free workshop, Nurturing Approaches to Parenting, at 10:30 a.m. April 3. Call 689-1204.


 

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 4 at Pearlridge Center, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 9 at Leeward Community College, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10 at Resurrection of the Lord Church in Waipahu. Call 845-9966.

* NATURE BUILDING Tim Rieth conducts a series of workshops on environmentally sound building techniques April 4-10, 25-26 and May 16-24 at MA’O Organic Farms in Waianae. * EGGS Halawa Xeriscape Garden sponsors an egg hunt and egg-decorating workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 4, with reservations due on April 2. Activity fee is $5 per family. Call 748-5041.

* MT. KA’ALA HIKE Hawaii Nature Center leads a hike to Mt. Ka’ala, weather permitting, at 8 a.m. April 4. Fee is $10. Call 955-0100.

* NEIGHBORS Ewa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. April 9 at Ewa Beach Library. Call 768-3710.

* RESTORATIVE YOGA Patricia Ossowski leads a workshop on stress-relief and well-being through yoga at 5:30 p.m. April 3 in the YOGA4EWA studio (91-440A Pupu St. in Ewa Beach). Cost is $15, space is limited. Visit http://www.yoga4ewa.com.

* TEDDY BEARS The 12th annual Teddy Bear Round-Up and Family Resource Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 4 at Pearlridge Center Uptown, with donated bears going to Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii. Planned are entertainment, activities, parenting tips, prizes, refreshments and visits from Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Elmo and Dalmation. Call 951-0200.

* SPRING READING Kapolei Library hosts its annual Spring Reading Program through April 4, when children in grades 6 and below will receive weekly prizes and bonus awards, just for reading. Call 693-7050.


* TANGO CLASSES An eight-week tango class kicks off at 7 p.m. April 6 in the Newtown Rec Center, 98-456 Kaahele St. in Aiea. Cost is $32, with proceeds going to Honolulu Lions Club’s Kapiolani Ballroom Dancers. Call 554-1561.

* SPRING BREAK Hawaii public school students began spring break March 23 and will return to classes on April 6.

* EASTER CELEBRATIONMoanalua Community Church has its Spring Easter Celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 4867 Bougainville Dr., with an egg hunt, bouncers, games, contests and prizes. Call 783-7471.
