* MUSUBI MAN Honolulu Theatre for Youth presents Musubi Man at 3 p.m. April 27 at Pearl City Library (453-6566). * NEIGHBORS The Pearl City Neighborhood Board meets at 6:30 p.m. April 28 at Waiau District Park. Call 768-3710.

* STUDENT ART Winners from the 1st Congressional District art competition are on exhibit through April 29 at Pearlridge Center. Call 488-0981.

* GOLF DEADLINE Deadline is April 30 to register for the Waipahu Aloha Club benefit golf tourney, set for May 8 at Waikele Country Club. Call 216-8294.

* PALISADES FAIR Palisades Elementary School has its ninth annual Fun Fair from 3 to 7 p.m. May 1 with a petting zoo, pony rides, Mobile Gamer Guys, Extreme Fun, crafts, bake sale, entertainment, food and more. Call 453-6550, ext. 240.

* CRAFTS Halawa Xeriscape Garden offers a Mother’s Day Craft session with Tillandsia (air) plants from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 2 at 99-1268 Iwaena St. Fee is $15; register by April 20. Call 748-5316.

* CHORAL CONCERT Leeward Community College presents its Kanikapila Singers and Chorus in a free program of traditional and contemporary songs at 7 p.m. May 9 at the LCC Theatre. Call 455-0385.

* L’ULU GALA The Leeward Community College Culinary Arts Program gala benefit is from 6 to 9 p.m. May 9 with 14 food stations from chefs and local restaurants, a silent auction, entertainment and spirits, plus a ceremony to honor 12 local chefs. Tickets costs $100 through May 1, $125 afterward. Call 455-0300.

* JACKRABBIT FOOTBALL The Oahu Youth Sports League registers players and cheerleaders from 10 a.m. to noon May 9 and every Saturday at Waipahu District Park for the Waipahu Jackrabbits’ Termite and Pee Wee division (ages 9-13). * AIEA HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 3-mile novice hike on the Aiea Loop trail at 8 a.m. May 9. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* NATURE BUILDINGTim Rieth conducts a series of workshops on environmentally sound building techniques May 16-24 at MA’O Organic Farms in Waianae.Work-trade opportunities and a sliding scale on tuition are available. A long-time nature builder, Rieth has erected green buildings from a learning center in Thailand to a summer home for the British royal family.
