* OKINAWA PLAY Castle Performing Arts Center premiers the historical drama Okinawa 1945 at 7 p.m. May 12 at Hawaii Okinawa Center in Waipio. Donations are welcome. The CPAC troupe from Castle High School will take the play to its European premiere in August in Edinburgh, Scotland. Call 233-5626.

* AUTHOR MEETINGS Leonora Ching, better known as “The Pickle Lady,“demonstrates recipes from her new book, The Pickle Lady’s Pickle Passion Cookbook, at 6:30 p.m. May 13 at Kapolei Library. On May 30, romance-mystery novelist and current president of the Romance Writers of America-Aloha Chapter Lynde Lakes shares her publishing experience in the workshop “The Small Press Experience” at 10:30 a.m. Call 693-7050.

* QUILT PROJECT The “Home of the Brave Quilt Project” returns to Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 25.
