* KUNIA HOUSING Phase II of the Royal Kunia development master plan will get a permit hearing before the city Planning and Permitting Department at 10:30 a.m. June 26 in the City Council committee meeting room in Honolulu Hale. Call 768-8031.

* DISASTER PREP Inventor Tom Thompson presents “How to Prepare for a Disaster” at 10:30 a.m. June 27 at Kapolei Library. Thompson has invented more than 20 patented hurricane and earthquake protection products. Call 693-7050.

* XERISCAPE MEETING The Friends of Halawa Xeriscape Garden holds its annual general membership meeting at 10 a.m. June 27 at the garden on Iwaina Street. Call 748-5312.

* HANGAR TALKSPacific Aviation Museum presents guest discussions at 1 p.m. every third Saturday in the museum theater, located on Ford Island in Pearl Harbor. Admission ranges from $14 to $5. Call 441-1000.

* TOASTMASTERS The Pearl City Toastmasters meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the Mokihana Room of Pearlridge Gardens & Tower (98-1042 Moanalua Road). Call 780-2066.

* PARENT SUPPORTThe Leeward Community Children’s Council offers free parent support meetings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every third Wednesday at Kapolei Police Station. All parents or relatives of children who have special needs are welcome. Call 672-6265.

* CHURCH SERVICESKapolei Buddhist Sangha conducts weekly church services at the American Renaissance Academy in Kapolei. Children’s classes also are offered once a month. * KEIKI PERFORMERS Sunshine Generation Hawaii conducts classes in song, dance and stage performance for ages 3 to 16 every Thursday at Kapolei Recreation Center. Fee is $35 per month; performances are in March and May. Call 489-1998 or visit sunshine-hawaii.net for times.

* OKINAWAN MUSIC Hear live Okinawan music from 8:30 to 10 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday at Off the Wall Bar and Grill in Aiea. Call 486-9255.


* FASHION CLASSES Polyphabric Design Studio has sewing, construction, pattern-making and design classes for ages 8 and older from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday in Kapolei. Fee is $100 for eight sessions; one-hour classes are $200 for eight, supplies included. Call 520-2232.

* IKEBANA CLASSES Pearl City Foundation teaches the Japanese art of flower arrangement at 9 a.m. Mondays at Momilani Community Center. Fee for the class plus the cost of flowers is $3. Bring flower clippers, vase and frog. Call 456-2073.
