* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 3:15 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at Waikele Center, noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 7 at Home Depot Kapolei, 7 to 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at Kapolei Hale and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 8 at Resurrection of the Lord Church on Lumikula Street in Waipahu. Call 845-9966.

* TRANSIT WORKSHOP The city’s High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project conducts its third and final community workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 5 at Kapolei High School cafeteria on the three proposed rail transit stations for West Oahu, featuring new sketches and renderings for the lobby and ground-level entry buildings. * TADD’S GOLF The March of Dimes conducts its second annual Tadd Fujikawa Invitational Golf Tournament at noon Aug. 5 at Kapolei Golf Course, hosted by Fujikawa, who will run a putting contest and short-game clinic prior to the tee-off. Call 973-2155.

* PICKLE LADY Leonora Ching demonstrates recipes from her second cookbook, The Pickle Lady’s Passion for Pickles, at 6 p.m. Aug. 5 at Waipahu Library. Call 675-0358.

* YACHT TOURS The TransPac yacht Lynx is moored at Ko Olina for public tours and sailing Aug. 6-9. Call 1-866-446-5969.

* BON DANCES Pearl City Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has its bon dance at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7-8 at 858 Second St. (455-1680); Soto Mission of Aiea-Taiheiji stages its bon dance at the same time and dates at 99-045 Kauhale St. (488-6794). Aiea Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has its bon dance at 7 p.m Aug. 29 at 99-186 Puakala St. (488-5685).

* WAIPAHU ‘69 REUNION Waipahu High School’s Class of 1969 plans a 40-year reunion for 6 p.m Aug. 28 at the Hale Koa Hotel, but the RSVP deadline is Aug. 8. Call 455-3887.

* SOLAR HOUSE Sunetric hosts a solar open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at 91-1032 Kaiikuwa St. in Ewa Beach to highlight the benefits of installing residential solar systems. Call 262-6600.

* OPEN HOUSE Edward Jones Investments has a blessing of its new Harbor Center Branch office (located at 98-027 Hekaha St., Suite 31 behind Cutter Ford in Aiea) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8, with special surprises and family fun. Call 485-1567.

* LITTLE LEAGUE REGISTRATION Ewa Little League Baseball holds registrations to keiki ages 5-12 for its upcoming 2010 season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8-9 at Ewa Beach Shopping Center, and Aug. 14-15 at Ewa Beach Community Park. * FAMILY FUN Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii throws a Family Fun Day from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 15, with hula hoop games, water balloon toss, a karaoke contest, prizes and more.Also, paintball target shooting for all ages goes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 15-16. Call 674-WAVE.

* GAVYN BENEFIT Supporters of the ailing Gavyn Takamoto sponsor a benefit party for the youth from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16 at Ige’s Restaurant & 19th Puka, 98-761 Oihana Place in Aiea. Donation is $30 pre-sale or $40 at the door for heavy pupus, drinks, live music, prizes and raffles. There also are no-host cocktails. Proceeds go to his medical expenses for fighting a rare tumor. * AUKAKE CLASSIC Special Olympics Hawaii hosts its annual Aukake Classic State Bocce and Soccer Tournament Aug. 22-23 at Waiau District Park in Pearl City.
