* HOMEBUYERS TALK Prudential Locations presents a free seminar for first-time home buyers at 5:30 p.m.Aug. 11 at Pearl Country Club. Call 735-5300.

* LITTLE LEAGUE Ewa Little League Baseball registers new and former players ages 5-12 for its upcoming 2010 season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 14-15 at Ewa Beach Community Park. * CANS Pearlridge Center’s annual Canstruction kicks off from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 15 when 10 teams of architects build giant structures out of cans of food in Uptown as a promotion for Hawaii Foodbank. The structures remain on display for voting through Aug. 29. Call 488-0981.

* MISSOURI FILM Battleship Missouri Memorial invites the public to its “Friends and Films on the Fantail"from 5 to 9 p.m.Aug. 15 featuring The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep. Special Olympics Hawaii hosts its annual Aukake Classic State Bocce and Soccer Tournament Aug. 22-23 at Waiau District Park in Pearl City with a multi-division soccer tournament, individual soccer skills competition and both traditional and Unified bocce doubles competition. Call 943-8808.

* CANE HAUL RUN The inaugural Waipahu Cane Haul 5K Run/Walk starts at 7 a.m. Aug. 23 on Waipahu Street, followed by a festival at Hawaii’s Plantation Village from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Early race registration ($20) is from Aug. 4-17. Call 354-3663.
